"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplication, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men. "

- 1 Tim 2:1

Prayers

In the New Testament, this word is restricted to requests made to God. Prayers are more general. This term includes wishing, desiring, asking and petitioning.  Its significance is indicated by the saying, "more things are wrought through prayer than this world will ever know"

Supplication

The word indicates petition for a specific object.  It focuses on personal needs and freely acknowledges insufficiency to provide the solution.  It is a good to begin the list because its basis is humility in approaching God.  An old song that best captures the sense of this word.  “Its me, It’s me oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer.”

Upcoming Events

Thanksgiving

The giving of thanks should precede all our prayers. It should go on during all our prayer time. It should continue after our formal prayer has ended. True thanksgiving is a continuous expression of gratitude of God for his constant blessing on our lives!

Intercession

This word describes the action of standing in the gap for another.  Abraham interceded for Lot and Sodom.  Jesus interceded for Jerusalem.   At present he is interceding with the Father for all of us.  The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much.  James 5:16.

We glory in the cross of Jesus.  Humble is the way that leadeth unto everlasting life, at His feet shall be the highest place our soul shall go. This 4 AM Solemn Prayer Assembly convenes yearly running concurrently with the seasons: summer, winter, spring and fall.
